You may be interested in the official American Heart Association course, HeartCode® ACLS, if your employer requires that you have an American Heart Association card for ACLS.

Why ACLS certification online?

  • Access online classes 24/7.
  • Take interactive tests for thorough learning, and see exam results immediately.
  • Easily see what you missed, so you can study before retaking tests when it fits your schedule. (First time certification requires an in-person skills session, but all other course material is delivered online.)

Health Education Solutions' ACLS certification online modules are designed for professional health care workers in and out of the hospital.

What's New? 2010 ACLS Certification Updates

Each module within the ACLS certification course includes a summary of changes to the content based on the updated guidelines. Here are highlights:

  • Change the A-B-C (airway – breathing – compressions) sequence to C-A-B, so chest compressions are initiated sooner, with minimal delays to ventilatory assistance.
  • Routine use of atropine in cardiac arrest protocols has been found to be ineffective and is now removed.
  • Monitoring exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2) may be completed by continuous waveform capnography and is now recommended in all resuscitations.
  • Knowledge and skills now should be assessed between each two-year certification period as part of an institution's continuous quality improvement program.

Courses reflect 2010 American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and ECC and ILCOR International Consensus on CPR and ECC Science with Treatment Recommendations.
